Work continues on electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Siding is
almost complete on both homes. New water meters were installed and connected by City
of Seattle crews. |
| October 10, 2003 |
Both homes now have unique addresses. The north home is now assigned
a new house number of 10029, while the south home retains 10033,
the address of the former home located on the site. Electrical and plumbing work is
nearly complete on both homes. Brian and crew continue to work on interior
projects, along with many of the lesser details that are not so visible but still very
essential to the quality that Upright Construction puts into every project they work on .
Note the caulking applied to wall joints, and the foam insulation around pipes and
wires. Little details which contribute greatly to energy conservation and occupant
comfort. |
| October 15, 2003 |
Insulation is complete in the north home, and drywall material was
delivered today. The drywall crew is scheduled to begin work on Thursday on the
north home. Brian and Ron installed the project sign out in front of the south home. The homes are being represented by Real Property Associates of Seattle.

The drywall sub-contractors continued to work on the north home.
Paris Plumbing returned to install the bathtubs and shower stall drain pans.
Drywall Distributors of Woodinville delivered a load of drywall for the south home.
The drivers use a remote radio control device to control the boom crane on the
truck. This allows them to unload the truck while they remain in the home and
control the unloading process from the second story. A very efficient operation!

Drywall is nearing completion on both homes. Interior wall texturing
is expected to be applied next week. Robert, Brian, and Jason completed the
installation of the porch column trim. Brian meets with the painters on Saturday
to discuss exterior paint colors. Exterior painting is scheduled to begin next week.
The garage doors have been installed in both homes, and the heating systems are
running round the clock to speed the drying of the drywall compound. |
| October 27, 2003 |
Bob and Brian from Definitive Drywall Systems are completing the drywall
finish work on the south home. Drywall finishing in the north house is
complete and ready for texturing. Steve and Rick, co-owners of Greater Seattle Painting will spend
several weeks painting the exterior and interior of both homes. Steve masked off the
exterior doors and windows, and applied a light coat of primer on the bare wood on the
front of the south home. |
| October 28, 2003 |
The south home received it's first coat of exterior paint. Steve
refers to the color as an enigma color, as it seems to change under differing light.
Take a look and see if you agree. Brian had a small excavator delivered and
started work on the finished grade around both homes. |
| October 29, 2003 |
Steve and Rick completed the main exterior painting of both homes, and
started working on the white trim. The crisis of the day occurred when Brian lost
his cell phone, fearing that he probably graded over it with the small excavator.
Unable to continue work without a phone, Brian offered a $5 reward to anyone who could
find it. The drywall guys laughed at Brian's generous offer, but Rick took the
challenge and spent his lunch hour searching. Rick's tenacity paid off when he found
the phone and collected the reward. |
| October 30, 2003 |
The Greater Seattle Painting team continued working on the exterior trim.
Rick applied a clear coat to the shake facade on the north house. The freshly
painted white trim gives both homes a totally different look from just a few days ago.
The north home received a coat of interior primer and is ready for wall texturing.
The drywall crew is completing the final sanding in the south home. |
